Eric Lee photoEric Lee admits he was a poor student for many years. But he went on to earn a B.S. and M.S. in Biology, conduct research, and earn a place on the Dean’s List. What happened? “Partly, I just did some growing up. But I also found purpose in my life when I spent a year doing medical missions work in the Philippines. It opened my eyes and gave me a completely different perspective.”

Now Eric enjoys building relationships with students and encouraging them to try new things, to be committed, to be “all in.” He’s had many opportunities to do that since joining More Than S.A.T. last summer, working with middle school and high school students in an after-school program, tutoring in specific subjects, and doing ACT exam prep.

“I came to More Than S.A.T. because Jimmy and Chris were mentors to me when I was in high school. I knew that if they transferred their diligence and servant’s hearts to their business, it was something I wanted to be a part of.”

What does Eric think of high school students today? “They’re certainly savvy about technology, and often are able to think outside of the box. It’s very satisfying to see students applying the study skills I’m teaching, watching them consistently improve and gain confidence.”

Eric likes to talk about the importance of having a teachable attitude. “Although I’m the official tutor, I still learn a great deal from the kids I work with. I always consider myself a student.”
